Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful Information
What is Semi-Permanent Makeup (SPMU)?
SPMU stands for semi permanent make up. This technique requires a specialist tattoo machine to create certain desired aesthetics in various areas of the body. The pigment is gently applied to the skin using very fine needles to stencil over and fill a templates shape that is created during the consultation before the procedure begins.
What is Microblading?
Manual microblading is a process that involves a small handheld tool to implant pigment into the upper dermal layer of the skin in hair-like strokes that mimic the natural appearance of eyebrows.
Does Microblading and SPMU require a second session?
All SPMU and Microblading appointments require a second appointment known as a top up. This is required 4-6 weeks after your initial treatment in order to fill in any gaps or patches that may have applied during the healing process.
What is Lines and Wrinkle treatment?
Anti-wrinkle injections is a naturally occurring protein that causes the muscles of the face to relax, smoothing out wrinkles. When injected into a muscle temporarily relaxes the muscle by blocking nerve impulses. As the nerve impulses are blocked the muscle is temporarily unable to contract so that dynamic wrinkles are not formed. This gives the overlying facial skin a softer, smoother and more youthful appearance.
How long do anti-wrinkle injections last for?
It can take up to 14 days to see the full effects after the initial treatment. The cosmetic effects can last up to six months but typically range from three to four months. However in some treated areas (such as frown wrinkles), the wrinkles may return less severe after repeated treatments as the unconscious muscle contraction habit is broken. We offer all our clients a free two week review up appointment to assess the effect of treatment and administer any top up treatments if necessary. Treatments can be repeated at a minimum of three monthly intervals.
What is Filler?
Face fillers, otherwise known as dermal fillers, are small injections of gel, typically made up of hyaluronic acid, that fill in wrinkles and add volume to soft tissue. You can have dermal fillers in different parts of your face: around the eye, cheeks, mouth and jawline, as well as lip fillers administered directly into the lip tissue.
How long does filler last for?
Every client is different meaning results vary. What may give an immediate result on one client may take two or three sessions to achieve on another. Likewise, what may last 1 year on one client may last less than 12 weeks on another. This is due to several factors including lifestyle and skin type.
Can I remove filler?
In most cases filler can be dissolved and reversed by hyaluronidase. This is administered via small injections to break the product down. We offer this service within the clinic.
Will there be swelling after?
Immediately after your treatment there may be slight redness, swelling and tenderness. This is a normal result of the injection. This is temporary and generally disappears within a couple of weeks once the filler has settled.
Will it hurt?
A pre numb will be used for 10 minutes prior to the procedure to help minimise any initial discomfort. The injection itself also contains lidocaine (numb) within the product to ease pain of injection.
